CenterTools was founded in 1999 to develop customer-specific solutions for companies. In 2000 it incorporated as a limited liability company (GmbH) in Ludwigsburg, Germany.

To offer fast and flexible service for its customers in southern Germany, it opened its Munich branch a year later. In the meantime it added offices in Switzerland and North America and is represented by a worldwide partner network.
