Recovery-Series is a family of 14 all-in-one, purpose-built physical backup appliances that provide cost effective, radically easy to use comprehensive data protection and business continuity.
Unitrends Cloud
The Unitrends Recovery-Series supports multiple cloud storage options to store backups and archives offsite in the cloud. Replicate backups to the Unitrends No Limits Cloud™ for extra protection or archive lightly accessed data to the Unitrends Forever Cloud™ for infinite retention, offloading and expanding the local Recovery-Series storage.  Both can be accessed by Unitrends Disaster Recovery Services for Windows Physical, VMware and Hyper-V VM spin-up in the cloud for BC/DR and continual access to critical applications in the event of a disaster at the primary site.

3rd Party Cloud Support
Unitrends Recovery-Series also supports archive and backup to 3rd party clouds. Support for 3rd party clouds includes Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage including Google Nearline, and Rackspace CloudFiles.

Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS)
The Unitrends Recovery-Series appliance provides point-in-time data recovery and speedy restore of failed systems. But a data protection strategy requires a third component: off-site storage to protected critical data and systems in the event of a disaster at the primary site.  For businesses who need a more agile disaster recovery plan but don’t want to run a secondary site, Unitrends offers Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS). DRaaS delivers instant recovery of Windows, Hyper-V and VMware VMs in the Unitrends Cloud at a cost significantly lower than building and managing an off-site DR facility. 

Single Pane of Glass
A powerful user interface provides an easy to use drag and drop interface that monitors and manages backup, archiving and disaster recovery through a single, intuitive, pane of glass. This enables you to buy only the virtual appliance or software you need and yet grow the amount of space on your virtual appliance as your business grows. Single pane of glass also allows enterprises of any size to manage, schedule, and monitor backups and restores of multiple remote offices from a single site, eliminating the need for IT resources in those remote offices.

Visualization
Unitrends' newly redesigned user interface employs the use of visualization to continuously monitor the information path between all clients and the backup target (Physical or Virtual Appliance). This new user experience also offers a process to uncover hidden patterns, unknown correlations, and other useful information about how information is protected, which culminates as better decisions for the future. It’s about empowering anyone at any level where IT decisions are made with the tools to analyze backup and recovery performance, infrastructure usage trends, alerts, and visualizations.

Provides Flexible Data Protection
The Recovery-Series provides the agility and flexibility to configure data protection to meet each organizations unique needs, including an intuitive scheduler, single server and multi-server scheduling and group management, allowing independent or similar clients to be grouped together in a single backup schedule.   Granular and object level application consistency for Microsoft Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, and more is also available.

Protection for large scale deployments
The Recovery-Series provides the features and functions needed to create enterprise-level data protection workflows.  Additionally, for these large scale deployments Unitrends also offers optional NDMP NAS protection including enhanced storage integration for EMC and NetApp NAS devices. This is in addition to Unitrends broad support of other NAS devices using standard CIFS or NFS protocols.

Delivers Local and Cloud Archiving
Local D2D2X (Disk-to-Disk-to-Any) archive support, including rotational disk, rotational tape, fixed SAN, and fixed NAS are available for data retention, cloud seeding and recovery. Additionally, the Recovery-Series can also archive to the Unitrends Forever Cloud for infinite retention, or to any supported hyperscale cloud including Google, Rackspace or AWS.

Includes WAN optimized replication
The Recovery-Series combines global deduplication, compression, and 256 bit AES encryption in flight and at rest for secure byte-level data transmission, reduced bandwidth and security assurance of data at rest in the cloud.

Family of All-in One Appliances
Purpose built, preloaded and tuned to meet specific requirements, from the remote office to the enterprise.  Recovery-Series appliances offer from 1 TB to 182 TB of storage capacity, 8 GB to 256 GB memory, and 2 to 16 CPU cores.

Integrated with an Enterprise design
The Unitrends 3rd generation Recovery-Series hardware is designed to increase I/O bandwidth, maximize deduplication performance, and manage growing data volumes and tight backup windows. Faster CPU clock speeds, AES-NI hardware encryption, hardware RAID, and the industry’s first use of solid-state drives (SSDs), yield dramatic performance improvements.

Includes Solid State Drive (SSD)
Industry’s first integrated backup appliance (1U and larger) to include solid-state drives (SSDs) as a 2nd-layer read cache. As more backup data is processed, data is cached in SSD, speeding up read requests and increasing data I/O, addressing the challenges of growing backup data and shrinking backup windows. 

Delivers near continuous data protection
Schedule backups as often as every 60 seconds for world class RPO. Supplying near-CDP performance with up to 10,000 snapshots per week results in smaller backup windows and improved WAN bandwidth efficiency.

Contains adaptive data deduplication
Unitrends Adaptive Deduplication combines global byte-level deduplication and inline deduplication with source side deduplication (VMware), which reduces storage requirements by up to 95%.  Global byte-level deduplication leverages all Recovery-Series job content (synthetic and incremental forever) and incorporates a content and context sensitive, variable block-size deduplication algorithm to speed up backups, optimize storage capacity and improve WAN data transfers. Inline deduplicates data on ingest before writing to disk, eliminating the need for landing the data before deduplication, which significantly improves capacity utilization. Combining Inline deduplication with in-place synthesis creates synthetic backups 5-10x faster from memory, freeing up critical backup resources while ensuring consistently fast recovery, backup, replication, and archiving.

nstant Recovery with Failover Virtualization—Instant recovery for VMware, Hyper-V and Windows, can be used to quickly mount and boot a virtual machine to test the reliability of a backup or as a means of fully returning a VM to a production state. With Instant Recovery a system or application can be operating in 5 minutes or less. Instant Recovery supports virtual (V2V) and physical (P2V) restores.

Unitrends Bridge
Transform protected Windows systems into virtual machines (VMs) with Unitrends Bridge a 1-click P2V (Physical to Virtual) feature, included with every Recovery-Series appliance. This is also the technology that powers Unitrends Windows and virtualization-based (VMware and Hyper-V) instant recovery capabilities.

Unified Bare Metal™
Restore the operating system, applications, and other software onto “bare metal” of a newly provisioned server—even if that server is a different type than the originally protected server with Unified Bare Metal, a one-pass dissimilar bare metal feature that performs both bare metal backup and granular file-level backup simultaneously, so only one backup type is needed. In addition to dissimilar bare metal recovery, there are numerous performance benefits of this one-pass solution.

Replication Acceleration
Improve replication performance for large data sizes by up to 100% with in-memory hashing and deduplication acceleration. This provides up to 15MB/s, ~120Mb/s replication throughput, faster than the performance of most WANs, and allows you to meet Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) even as data requirements grow.

Application Recovery Assurance for vSphere, Hyper-V & Windows Physical
Take the guesswork out of application recovery, eliminate the time and expense of manual testing and ensure business service level agreements (SLAs) and compliance requirements are met. ReliableDR, an optional add-on, provides predictable mission critical application recovery of multi-tier complex applications. ReliableDR includes automatic testing and certification of VMware, Hyper-V, and Windows Physical backups, as well as pushbutton failover, locally, across data centers or in the Unitrends Cloud.
